Erato and oldohiohome.

Thank you so much for so much useful information. You are both very kind.

George Henry Walby is/was my great great grandfather and I now know from the 1908 City Directory that his family lived at 23 Murray Street for the whole 3 years living with my great great grandmother's brother Evan Gibbon.

Thank you both again. Much appreciated.

I wondered if there's anybody out there with a bit of local historical knowledge of Edwardsville, Lucerne County, Pennsylvania?

My great grandparents emigrated from South Wales and lived there from 1905 to 1908 and in that time had my grandmother in 1907.

I've had a fruitless search for a birth certificate but wondered if perhaps there'd be a baptism entry for her in church records.

Were there many churches that Welsh people favoured more than others and if so where would all church records be now?

My grandmothers name was Gertrude Walby and she was born on the 2nd of August 1907.

Many thanks.

Thank you very much. As I said earlier, I've now resolved the 2008 query but I appreciate you confirming my findings.  :)

Thank you. After 13 years I'm afraid I've only just been made aware of it. Very nice of you to reply. Since posting I've now resolved the query. Best wishes.

I don't want any money for it but due to difficulties don't want to have to sort out posting it either. If you DM me I'll get a picture taken of what I have so that you could decide whether or not you'd like to organize some sort of courier pick-up.
 :)

Hello. Thank you for getting in touch. I'm not related to the Whannell family in any way but as I said, I have acquired some cutlery with their crest on it.

Are you in the UK anywhere near Dorset? If you are, I would happily pass it on to you.

If there is one, the best place to look for death announcements is in a local newspaper. I can see on a google search that there's an Epping Forest Guardian, but you may find more.

No, there's no William Archer mentioned on the index.  :)

Yes it is a shame when some churches haven't handed in their more up-to-date registers. It may be that they're still in use. At least MI's have been done, so that's better than nothing!  :)
