Hi rootschatters,

I am now searching for Mary Banyard's birth records - she was born in Rochford Essex in 1808/1811.  I believe the family may have originated in Suffolk.  At the time of her marriage in 1832 her father Robert is deceased.

Who is her mother please?  All details from the parish record gratefully received.

Thank you for looking this marriage up for me - it doesn't give any addresses for the parties does it?  Does she sign or just a mark?

I think the baptisms (for the Duprey's) must have been performed out of their normal area for one reason or another.  If indeed they were baptised at all.

Thanks for your help.  You may be breaching some sort of copyright by posting the image so don't worry about it.

Hi,

Has anyone had any issues running the British Vital Records Index on Vista?

Please could anyone with access to the parish records for Newington and adjacent parishes have a look at the marriage of Ann Salmon and Samuel Barnard on 8th July 1834.  This may help to solve the problem of the Duprey boys.  Ann may be Mary Ann who went on to marry a Duprey.

The IGI film number is MO55631.

If you could also see if George Duprey born approx 1836 and Archibald Duprey born 1834 are baptised in the same parish.  No record of these two boys birth has been found so far despite the amount of help I have had in the search.  This is driving me mad.

Thanks,

Minack

Hi Bryant and Andre,

George's birth certificate has arrived.  As I suspected it is not the right one.  This George's father is Henry and mother Anna.  Henry is a cotton spinner by trade.

I was reading emails on the mailing list site and saw one about a Wax Chandler - I think Tallow and Wax may be one and the same!!  Apparently the wax chandlers were quite well off; and I found a lot of  wax chandlers' wills on Archives.  Alas no Archibald.

Tomorrow I am visiting the local LDS Church to look through their fiche.  If I can get copies of entries I will do that when I visit.  If I am unable to do that locally I will contact the bigger LDS Church in South Australia and see if I can order copies through them.  In the meantime I have found a set of British Vital Index Records for sale - would these be any use?  Are there more records on these cd's than on IGI for example?

I'll keep you posted.

Regards,

Minack
