Thank you very much both for your replies and offer of help It is really appreciated !!.
We tried the newspapers Edinburgh or Caithness but could find no mention.
We also have her death cert and patient record, but neither mentioned her burial place.
It is very possible that the lady went to a paupers grave ,if so what cemetery would have been used for a death in ERI in 1928 (earlier typo said 1925!) Did they have one they preferred or was it random burial places in  the city

Midlothian / Edinburgh Royal Infirmary query
« on: Sunday 18 June 23 16:16 BST (UK)  »
I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction. I have a lady from Caithness who died in ERI in 1925. She was not buried in her home location ,we have checked her husbands grave records so we wonder if she was buried in Edinburgh. Can anyone tell me who would have any record of what happened to her body after she left the hospital mortuary in 1925 ?? Would the council have grave records from 1925?
All help welcomed
Many thanks

Sutherland / Thomson family Bakers Dornoch
« on: Thursday 02 March 23 09:15 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I am trying to find out what the eventuall fate was of 2 members of the family of Henry Flett Thomson 1835-1907 and his wife and my relative Margaret MacKay 1835-1920 both born in Wick Henry was a baker in Dornoch. They had children William Helen Margaret and Christina.
The two I cannot find are William and Margaret.
William was born in 1857 in Wick, and the last I can find him is working as a butler in Deansgate Manchester in the 1881 census aged 24 After that nothing
Margaret was born in 1870 in Wick as well.
Margaret disappears from the Dornoch census after 1901 (Parish: Dornoch; ED: 1; Page: 12; Line: 22; Roll: CSSCT1901_13) After this I cant find anything about her.
Any thoughts ?? All help gratefully accepted

« on: Friday 05 February 21 09:32 GMT (UK)  »
Hi  I wonder if any one can help
One my gt gt grandmothers Elizabeth Anderson (nee Lennie)'s death certificate it describes her parents as John Lennie (farmer deceased) and Barbara Lennie  (nee Croy deceased). Elizabeth died in Wick July 24th 1886 aged 69
She was born on Stronsay and married Alexander Anderson on the island in 1843
My gt gt gt grandmother Barbara Croy died 24th October 1860 at Whitehall Stronsay aged 88 years. On her death certificate  she is described as the daughter of  Robert Croy (agricultural labourer deceased) and Margaret Croy nee Peace (deceased)
Does anyone know of any further information about Robert and Margaret ??
I cant seem to find anything more..

Many thanks and best wishes from Sweden

Thank you very much for the prompt replies and apologies for the earlier typo.
I had checked the 1911 census but did not glean much from it.
I found the death of Andewina both in SP and in a newspaper cutting from Edinburgh Evening News
However with your help I now have something to go on
Many thanks
