Hi,
Would it be possible for someone to have a look at the parish records for Heversham, Westmorland for:

William LeRoy baptised 21st January 1770    father John LeRoy

I'd like to know the fathers occupation if possible.

Any information will be greatly appreciated!

Best Wishes
Kate

Wilfred was the 8th child of John and Esther Crossfield. In 1911 he was already with the 1st Battalion Scots guards stationed in Egypt.

Wilfred died from wounds on the 8th October 1914 in Hampshire and is buried at Netley Military Cemetery.

My great great Uncle Arthur Lilley was the youngest child of 5 children and born in Keighley.

All I can find out about him was he fought in the 26th Battalion of the Northumberland Fusiliers.

He died on the 3rd of September 1917 in France and is buried at Hargicourt Cemetery.

Remembered with Honour.

My Great Uncle John Edwin enlisted at the age of 17yrs and 11 months, into the 13th Battalion Durham Light Infantry.  He was a crane driver in Leeds and the second eldest of 12 children.

John was killed in action on the 5th October 1918, and is buried at Beaurevoir British Cemetery in France.

World War Two / International Red Cross
« on: Monday 21 October 13 16:10 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I put in a request to the International Red Cross a year ago about 2 POWs. I received a letter today and they have asked for 100 swiss francs per request and my credit card details to be sent either by post, or to send them via an email address they provided in the letter, if I want the search to go ahead.

Has anybody requested POW records from the international red cross and when you requested the search did they ask for payment the same way?
