Pembrokeshire / Daniel George baptism
« on: Tuesday 23 May 17 14:52 BST (UK)  »
I'm trying to find the baptism for my 4th great grand father Daniel GEORGE born about 1774 Cillgeran, or spelt Killgeran, Pembroke, Wales. On the 1841 and 1851 census he is in London and married to Phoebe George nee Chivers. On 1851 place of birth says South Kilgerran, Wales.
I understand the naming of children is different from English naming. Daniel would be 'Daniel son of George'.
I would like to find his baptism record, any brothers and sisters he had, and his father and mother's name.
I have tried Family Search and Find my Past, but I've had no joy.
Any help would be grateful.

Somerset Lookup Requests / John Gill yarcombe
« on: Friday 30 October 15 17:18 GMT (UK)  »
Hi dee jay
I have a baptism for John Gill 11 June 1812 Yarcombe, Devon. Mother Lydia Gill. It say base. So I wonder if there was a Lydia Gill born 1790s but not married to Thomas Gill.  Anyway, all the other children's baptism's have found say that the parents are Thomas and Lydia Gill, so she may be the same Lydia. Unless Thomas had died by the time John was born.
The marriage I found for Thomas Gill and Lydia Crabb is 30 Sept 1798 Church Stanton, Devon. So its all a little confusing.
I have found a burial for a John Gill 1861 at Victoria park cemetery, hackney Middlesex. once again I'm not sure if its my John.
i'll keep in touch if I find anything new, and hope you will do the same.

United States of America / Re: Edward Gifford & Maria Elizabeth Murray
« on: Tuesday 18 August 15 16:37 BST (UK)  »
Thank you to you both for the info you have given me.
The 1901 and the 1911 census showing Edward with wife Martha and kids is my Edward Albert, the son of Edward and Maria Elizabeth Gifford. I did come across the 1891 and 1901 census for Edward Gifford in Islington, but not quite sure if its my Edward. The 1901 says Edward with a son Henry. I wonder if he said his son was Henry and not Edward Albert.
I shall look into the passenger list for the 2 Maria Murray's that one of you found.
Also I will see if there are any records for railway employers at the time and see if Edward Gifford is mentioned.
Thanks to both of you for your help.

« on: Sunday 16 August 15 19:10 BST (UK)  »
I'm trying to find the marriage of Edward Gifford, born 1846 Tottenham, Middlesex, England and Maria Elizabeth Murray, also born 1846. On the 1881 census in Tottenham, England it say she is born in Middlesex.
I have found Edward in America on the 1870 census
Under Gifferd
Living in Franklin, Delaware, Sydney, New York USA
Edward Gifford - Born1846 - England - Age 24 - Occupation - Labourer (Works on Farm).
In then have Edward and Maria Gifford on the 1875 census
Living in Afton, Chenango, New York, USA
Edward Gifford - Born1846 - England - Age 29 - Occupation - R.R. Hand
Wife - Maria Gifford - Born1846 - England - Age 29
After that in 1881 I have them both back in Tottenham, Middlesex, England with 3 children.
Annie Gifford born 1876 USA
Edward Albert Gifford born 1879 Woodgreen, Middlesex
Eliza Gifford - Born1880 - Woodgreen, Middlesex.
Maria Elizabeth Gifford dies in 1886. Then Edward & the children disappear.
can anyone help me find a marriage for Edward and Maria and may be a birth cert for Annie. I don't know if Annie is her real name or not. Also what occupation is a R R Hand.
I cannot find a return passenger list for them coming back to England.
Any help would very grateful.
Thanks Maxine

« on: Thursday 22 May 14 07:01 BST (UK)  »
Hi
Can someone tell me where you would be buried if you died in Camberwell Infirmary in 1909. If not buried, what crematorium. Also if you died in Camberwell in 1946. Would it be the same place.
I have a relative who died there.
thanks

Frances Shore was the daughter of Maria Shore. She was baptised 14 Dec 1834 Morchard Bishop, Devon. Frances then married James Fursdon in 1853 Exeter, Devon.
Maria Shore was the daughter of Richard shore and Elizabeth Webber. She was baptised, 10 Sep 1815, Morchard Bishop, Devon. I believe Frances Fursdon (Shore)died in 1903 in Taunton, Somerset.
Maria and daughter Frances are with mother Elizabeth Shore b 1776 on 1841 census
Frances is a house servant born 1837 age 16 on 1851 census

Census Lookup and Resource Requests / Richard Nunn of Mellis Suffolk
« on: Tuesday 03 December 13 08:09 GMT (UK)  »
I'm trying to find Richard Nunn, born 1833 in Mellis, Suffolk on the 1851 census. I have him on the 1841 with his father - Robert Nunn, his mother Elizabeth, and 3 brothers and 1 sister.
He then appears on the 1861 census married to Emily h Berry in Mellis with his family. They eventually move to Kelvedon, Essex.
I have found a Richard Nunn in Hargrave, with parents Charles and Elizabeth, but I'm pretty sure this not him.
I can find his other siblings and parents on the 1851 census, But no Richard.
Can anyone help find him.
He was baptised on the 25 Aug 1833 Mellis Suffolk and married Emily Hepzibiah Berry in 1855 in Hartismere, Suffolk.
Thank you

Devon / Re: Marston/Shore-Marston
« on: Tuesday 04 December 12 09:38 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Grah 72
Florence Shore who married John William Marston is in my 2 daughters family tree.
Her father was Richard Shore, born 1844 Morchard Bishop Devon. He I believe married Mary Ann Hill in 1868 Devon. He had a sister named Harriet Shore. She is my daughters 3rd gt grand mother. She married Thomas Galsworthy in 1859 Sandford, Devon. Her parents are Robert Shore and Harriet Moore.
I have a feeling that Florence's son John Henry Shore, born about 1895 in Exeter, may be illegitimate.
Hope this helps.
I think we have written to each other in the past.
