Suffolk / Re: Elizabeth GLASSCOCK bc 1795

Have just found some notes that I had written some time ago where John Glasscock was her father and Mary Horsnail her mother,  John Glasscock from Walthamstow, Essex.    Will have to confirm this.

Yorkie:  could be the same John,  however,  no proof that Mary died before 1824,  so can't go further with that theory.

Cheers all  ;)

Hi Annette

Yes she was an innkeeper at the Saracens Head.   Will note the birthplace and do some digging.

Thank you for the info.

Hi Saira  :)

I have opened lots of boxes during the last week and still yet to locate the offending one,  the removalists have either mis labelled the box or I have,  but still can't find my BMD certs or parish records.    What I have on my tree would have only been put there if verified by a particular source,  so this is what I have:-
Elizabeth Whiffen born abt 1786 in Sudbury, to William and Martha
Married Abishai Green in 1808 at St Peter's, Sudbury, Suffolk.

My records indicate they had 11 children,  however,  I have yet to check 3 of them as they were born when Elizabeth was older.  As yet...I have not done any research into William and Martha Whiffen.

If ever I find the missing boxes and they have any more info,  will post.

Have a fabulous Festive Season  :D

Hi Saira ;)

Yes I am still out here...thanks for the message,  I have just recently moved to another country and am still un-packing,  I would like to have the certificates to refer to,  so when I track these down....will post the details.    Thanks again.

The Wiffin name can also be spelt whiffen...and I have your James Abishai as Abishai James,  so if you are searching use both.

If I have any luck finding the info today...will post.

Cheers  :)

Thankfully...it's been quiet lately on the fire front.  It's going to be very hot for the next week or 10 days,  but the fire ratings are low....(high humidity) so that's a good change.

I will be moving in your direction later this year....so sort those earthquakes out Suzy!!     ;)

Glad to hear Newbe is OK,  was getting a bit worried.   Thanks for keeping us up to date Suzy and Janette.     If you've had enough of the chaos....catch a flight and come to Perth...plenty of room in my house.....just a pity I live so far away that I can't help someone.

Thanks Mare....hope all is good for Newbe and others...will keep watching in case someone knows she's OK.     We were planning to move back there this year....I guess it will delayed now.....

Stay safe, Suzy, Leandra and others I cannot remember.

It was sad to see my home town crumble as it did today,  many hugs to my fellow cantabrians,  I sincerely hope you are safe, well and find all your families the same.    Unfortunately I was there in Sept last year and got that one....I can imagine some of your anxiety.       Let us hope it all ends SOON!!

I haven't read all the posts... does anyone know how Newbe is?

XXXXX

Hi Jme79  ;)

I have an original 1871 Whites directory which covers all of Suffolk,  if you give me the names and where they lived,  I would happily read through the book to see if anything is mentioned about your people.
