Many thanks for that. I have emailled the relevant archives to see if they will copy and post the documents to Australia. Will let you know how I go.

Finally have a death and first marriage for George. Married a Louisa Veart a widow on 8 September 1921. She was 42 and he was 39 years. Her mother was Lucy Ann Hooker nee Coldicult. Father was Stephen Hooker. They were divorced 18 October 1937 at Supreme Court Auckland. They had a daughter born about 1921/22. He married a Marjorie Moir about 1934. George died 10 January 1957 at Cherrie Road Howick. His daughter was listed as 35 years.
Any help with this information? I would like to know his daughter's name and date of birth and his second marriage date.
Many thanks Ellenor

Ireland / Patrick FORBES
« on: Wednesday 16 September 09 05:20 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find a Patrick FORBES from Ireland who emigrated to Sydney Australia in 1852 aboard the Lady Kennaway. I know it's a long shot. I believe he went to Plymouth to board the ship. He had a wife, Jane and 2 or 4 children. Two of the children may have died before he left Ireland.
I did try the web page that "your pete" suggested but no luck.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Ellenor

Many thanks for the reply. Would you know if there were any records still available and where I would find them?

Does anyone have any information about this asylum? I have an ancestor have all her children there. The name is Margaret Martill/Martell/Marttil formerly Hughes. Her husband was John Martill/Martell/Marttil. The child I am tracing is their daughter Gladys/Gwladys born 9 March 1897. There were apparently another nine children born there from those parents. Any help would be appreciated.

I think the Anthony's of L.A were related, but am still trying to work them out. I have got back to William and Charlotte on my branch. That is through their son Anthony and his son William. William jnr had a sister named Hannah born 1860, so could be a name used in the family. William also had a brother, John but he died 1838. Your Hannah may be a cousin of Anthony?????
I'll have a look at your website and get back to you.

Would love any info on the Burtons. I believe William Burton baptised  in 1816 was William's child before they married. Jonathan Wadsworth is our ancestor. I believe Lydia's parents were James and Elizabeth but don't have much else.
Do you need my regular email or will this site do?
Regards and thanks Ellenor

Lucy
No idea on first marriage when or where. No occupation either. I have nothing really on him except that he went to NZ, his date of birth and his ancestry. I guess I was probably being optimistic that I could find him.
Thanks for the help anyway. Regards Ellenor
