Border Searcher, Are you aware that in the Auld Selkirk Kirkyard there is the "Murray AILSE" within the old Kirk. its has 5 panels listing all the Murrays from Bowhill and Falahill from 250AD and worth a look. you can get the CD from Border Family History Society for £10 and well worth it. this entry described one of the member of the Murrays you might like.
\To the memory of JOHN MURRAY . He suffered great persecution for his opposition to episcopacy and for his strong attachments to the covenanting cause. He was a gentleman of singular piety , was chased from his house and heritage by the y-mel-----ums oppression and had all his goods driven to ye Mercat cross of Selkirk and there sold. James, . senr., he.cl several other daughters . Agnes m. John Davis, butcher (see West Border IL, 2); Isal:>ella m. Thomas Gr.ahiam, ,son of John Graham, Holland House; Lizzie m. Peter !Rut
