Yes, I have that info Roma and the marriage certificate.  She was widowed at the age of 21 with two young boys, her husband was a fisherman.  William's father was also named William, he was listed as deceased on their certificate.  His occupation was Seaman.  William is also shown as a Seaman (Merchant Services)  In February 1865 William is 29years old.
I am pretty certain that there is a branch of 'my' Lilleys in London cos I have found some who carry the family christian names ( I know that isn't definite but it is a starting point).

The Lilleys that my cousin found, the father was listed as a dairyman, and I am not sure if he would go from being a dairyman to being a sailor? anyone got any ideas on that?

Might be her, Carole but there were a lot of Lilleys in Leeds before we ever moved down here.  I might have got it wrong about which sister was the one that married, I got the info re the unmarried ones from my sister, she could have got it wrong!!
Yes, I am looking at the Ushers but at the minute I am trying to find out as much as I can about my grandfather 's(Thomas Lilley) family.  Usher is the maiden name of my grandmother Phillis.  I will look at them when I have got a bit further with the Lilleys.

I would appreciate a look up in the 1841 census.  The name I am looking for is William Lilley, born Islington, (stMary's Parish) in 1835/36 I am sorry if that isn't enough info, I am not sure exactly what you need.  Thank you

That is strange, Tom.  I have my mum's certificate, a very nice young man at the registration office found it for me (  it cost me £13) and he was the one that looked for Annie Reid and found one who died in April 1911 as being the only one age wise who seemed to fit the bill.  My mum was born on the 18/2/1910 and her regististration district was Govan, does seem odd that there are two!!!!  The young man at the office checked through quite a bit for me, he was really helpful. The certificate I have is the correct one, the parents are correctly listed.  Annie Reid is on the birth certificate as , Mother, and her occupation is Restaurant Waitress.  The Annie Reid death he found has the girl listed as a Restaurant Assistant which seems to fit.   Mmmmm, that is a puzzle, seems unlikely to have two Ina Ferris born in the same district etc and so close in registration.

Adghadowey, that is where I have got stuck with them at the minute, regarding the area of Ireland.  I am also tracing my dad's English tree and, to be truthful, trying to watch the costs.  With that in mind I keep trying to find out as much as I can via free links etc and then working out which certificate to order that will take me the furthest before paying out again.

Just caught your recent post.  Yes, she was illegitimate but both her parents were present at the registration and the certificate I have gives her name.  That is dated March 7 1910. The address my mother was born at was 167 Renfrew Road Govan,  I haven't tried to find out whether that was a hospital or private home.........mainly because I am not sure how to.

Is the 1871 referring to William's own family in Middlesbrough?  If it is I already have traced that information.   I am trying to find him before then and I think I am going to need his wedding certificate to get the names of his parents and Martha's. I have found out her name prior to marrying the first time was White. Martha (William's) wife was born in Scarborough  and she married James Tann in the second quarter of 1857.
