To Trish1120, Sarah (Admin), KGarrad and Robert Lott who all contributed to my quest in finding my lost LOTTs. I thank you all.
To Robert Lott, we are related way back through James Lott (b.1737) and Sarah Day.
kind regards

Thank you so much for the reply KGarrad.
Sarah Ann is my gr grandmother and this all the information I have been able to find also.
I was hoping to try and find evidence of Samuel LOTT's parents. I have found a LOTT family living in Bristol (Milliners) and it appears that they moved to Bridgwater around 1790, but I have not found anything to substantiate my theory.

Am running out of places to look.

Kind regards
Thomand

Hello all,
Hope to find some information on my gr grandfathers family.
What I do have~
Samuel LOTT married Ann HUNT  @ St Mary's Bridgwater 1808
Son - Edwin LOTT christened @  St Mary's Bridgwater 1809

Someone suggested that there were many LOTTS in the Bristol area but I have been unable to find any link to my LOTTS at Bridgwater.

Even the smallest info may  get me past this brick wall.  ???

Cheers

Hello Dana & Kerry,
I am a rellie also. Norah Higgins b.1889 is my grandmother. I have sent you both a PM. Hope we can keep in touch and break down this brickwall of Daniels. Somewhere I found a marriage for Daniel to Catherine Regan - I will have to dig out all my scraps of paper and decipher the source notes but will let you know the outcome.
cheers

Hello Crystal,

Thank you for the reply and links. I found fibis. org yesterday (just after I posted my cry for help) not sure why it didn't turn up in hundreds of googles I had done before. The good news is that I found the family I was looking for and his future wife and all of her family as well. It is a brilliant site and would recommend it to those who are searching for British-India families. I will also check out the other site you suggested as a cross-reference for yesterdays find.

Thanks again, (love this Rootschat-  friendly, helpful  people reside here).

Lu,
Doh, forgot about that. I think you have to register with Ancestry (free) just give yourself a weird name and and password if you haven't registered with them. Just don't forget to log out again when you have finished or you will have a tracking cookie that will drive your security program nuts!! If you want to send me your email address in a PM I will send you an invite to view the tree.

Can't thank you enough for the familysearch.org  tip, I found the whole family (another generation and branch found and counted for). The last time I looked on Familysearch they had very few  (but then I was still searching NZ.)  Can't believe this, I only found Dads death notice in January and to date have found  400+ new rellies.

cheers

Hi Lu,
You're right on the money Nora, Hannorah, Hannah, Honoria (we have 5 of them! and six Daniels !!) and I hadn't even thought about family search - thanks for that.  Have added my website family tree to my profile if you want to take a look.

The Common Room / Looking for record of birth in India !!!
« on: Saturday 13 September 08 01:42 BST (UK)  »
Hello all,
I hope someone can guide me in the right direction. I have found information that shows my gr gandmother was born in India (1862). Her fathers occupation  was a Mariner, by the name of Michael McDonough and I suspect he was with the British Navy or Merchant Marines or possibly the East India Co.
Can anyone suggest where I might find birth records for children born in India to British parents.

kind regards

Hello Lu,
Yes, my dude offered to buy me a brand new crisp set of divorce papers until I reminded him that it was HIS grandfather.

I have tripped over a major brickwall in MY family research, it appears that my fathers maternal grandmother was born in INDIA :o. I don't even know where to start looking for records for India. We think her father was Irish (McDonough) and we know he was a Mariner so maybe he was with the East India Co. or the Briish Navy or something.  Gr Grandmother marrried in NZ in 1879. I will post a general cry for help on where to start looking. Surely, there is somewhere that holds such records.
