Hi there,
Many thanks for that, very interesting and I will get in touch with the tree owner just in case.
Although there must be a link somewhere I think it must be further back. I don't recollect French relatives ever being mentioned either.
My mother Giuseppina was born in 1916, the youngest of 4 to Giovanni Deideri and Margherita Savio just north of Torino.
They died there but she emigrated to Britain after the war.
There seems to be so few records online.
You have re energised me though so thank you!

Europe / deideri and savio, Italy

Hi,
I am trying to find info on my mother's family. Her father was a Deideri and her mother a Savio.
They were from the Italian Piemonte around the Turin area.
As Deideri is a rare name I am assuming that any with that name in that area will be a relative!

Got your pm saying you only got a blank message. I sent you another but don't know if you got it!
I am away from home at the moment and using an old ipad so am wondering if it is to do with that.

I'll send you a personal message.

Hi,
Have replied to your PM but suspect it did not send.
Could you let me know if you received it?
thanks

Hi Norma

I realise you posted a while ago but I've only recently seen your message.

Thomas Carlyle and Isabella Dixon were my 5xg grandparents. Their daughter Isabella (b.1771 Sorrysyke, St Mungo d.1858 Carthat, Lochmaben) married John Richardson and I am descended from that line.

I have also been trying to work out where they fit in with the other Carlyles. Did you get anywhere? I think the ones buried in Pennersaughs might have a common ancestor but I haven't worked out specifically how they are all related.

Thanks
Gill

Hi Gill,
Haven't been on this site for a long time so have only just seen your post.
I am also descended from Isabella Carlyle and John Richardson.
I shall have a look to see what I have but I don't think I have any more. I did find Sorysike on an old map.
Have you got any further back with the Carlyles?
cheers

Hi there,
Well Burrenrig is in the right neck of the woods for them to be related!
Sorry I can't be of more help. Best of luck...

Hi there,
I have had a look and whilst I'm sure they will be related I don't have them in my records.
Whereabouts is Burren Rig? and whaat info do you have on James born in the 1790's?
I have a James Thornburn born 1775 who is a brother to Walter my xtimes grandfather.
I have a James as living in St Annes, Johnstone in the 1841 census with his wife Elizabeth aged 65 and 55.
I have a list of their children and in both 1803 and 1807 they had a daughter baptized as Betty, which is, of course, Elizabeth. I never got  the originals so I don't know if the place of birth was recorded.
My Walter also married an Elizabeth but I don't know if they had a daughter named Elizabeth, quite likely, I would have thought.
The 2 residences I have are Elizatown and Kinnelknock.
Hope this helps...
cheers
Norma
