Dublin / Re: Looking for Birth or Baptism record Dublin about 1874

Have you searched under Noonan without a first name?
Lots of births registered without one.
I'd widen it out a few years either side of 1874. People often wrong about their age.

RE: ages - most likely people did not know precisely how old they were, rather than explicitly lying (unless aging themselves up to join the army).

I tried that one too.

I've given for now. I'll give it a go on a different computer when that's possible.

Thanks for the suggestions. I also tried them to no avail.

No luck with this today sadly. Either with or without a VPN, I just get the 6 month offer.

I'll wait to see if there's any Black Friday deals.

Have you contacted the church where he married in 1950? They would hopefully have a separate register of marriages which might have both parents' name.

Pembrokeshire / Re: Richard Griffiths, b 1781. St Issells or Tenby?

I don't have anything helpful to add, but I do have an ancestor called Elizabeth Griffiths, father Thomas. She was born 1823 in St. Issells. Mother Mary but no birth name recorded. Elizabeth married Lewis Morgan in 1845.

I presume there will be a connection.

Just a note to add, I found the newspaper notice (Leitrim & Roscommon Gazette 19/3/1842) with Denis Bingham's death, so it seems he did live that late. Good for him!
