Hi

Since posting, I have found out my G G G Granny was Mary Williams, born about 1838 and he husband, my G G G Grandfather was called William Williams. Thier daughter Annie married my G G Grandfatehr Charles Sheldrake, but they had moved to London by then. I think William Williams must have died quite young as only Mary and Annie appear on census returns after Annie married.

Still looking into them though. Will post if I find anything of significance

Hi Guys.

On the marriege certificate I have got, it definetly says that my ancestor was a lawyer. Maybe he was scottish or something.....don't they call their solicitors lawyers?

This has definetly given me something to ponder on though. Maybe a bit more research is in order.

Thanks for the help

Hi.
I wonder if anyone can help me with this small problem.

Would anyone know where I would be able to obtain lists of London Lawyers from the 19th Century. Recently found out an ancestor was a lawyer but can't think where to start looking for info about him and his profession.

If you can help..........Thank you

Europe / HOLLAND: Looking for a Dutch subject
« on: Monday 14 February 05 20:52 GMT (UK)  »
I have found evidence of a Dutch subject in my family. Can anyone please tell me where I could get more information about this man. His name was Albertus Merles and he was born about 1866. I have found him on the 1901 census living in London with his wife and two children, but I would really like to find out where he was living before then.

If anyone can help.......Thank you

Can anyone please help me?

I have recently obtained a photo of my great grandfather and on the bottom it says

" A Jenkins original pearly king of Bethnal Green"

I have searched the internet for sites relating to pearlies, but they seem to only focus on modern pearlies, not old ones.

Has anyone got any idea where I need to look or any information on pearlies in Bethnal Green

Thank you

Hi all

Sorry, haven't been online lately

My Granny's name was Mary Williams and she was born about 1838. The only other member of her family I know off at the moment is her daughter Annie Williams, which is says was also born in Wales, just doesn't say where abouts.
Off to check out the sites D ap D recommended.
Was quite daunted when I saw Mary Williams as an ancestor, as there are probably loads of women with the same name from Llanwrst.

Any help with this will be gratefully received. Maybe get a chance to go to Llanwrst myself soon and have a look about

Thanks again
