I have found Militia Attestation papers for a William Beach signing up for the Royal Warwickshire Regiment in 1898 born Birmingham, aged 18yrs 9 months. Occupation polisher. Could that be him?

Hello Peggy and welcome to Rootschat.

I have no connection at all to Albert and Cora, I was just reading these messages out of interest and unfortunately it seems it is sometime since any of the original posters have been on Rootschat.  Anyway with so much more available online these days I have found Cora was born in 1888 in Middlesborough and baptised Carola Isabel Appleyard.  She married Albert Young in 1915 and died in 1978. She is buried in Nunburnholme along with Albert who died in 1963.

Just posting in case anyone related pops back on to Rootschat.

According to a newspaper report it closed down in 1958 having been established in 1875 by T D Ridley who built the first railway bridge over the Tees at Croft near Darlington.  Engineers who did repairs especially on steam locomotives.

The Apple ones are called Magic Keyboard but there are much more cost effective compatible ones that are just as good.

Hi Lisa,

I think from your description you are using the iPads on screen keyboard. You probably already know this but you can get covers with a built in keyboard that may work better with your style of typing. Also has the advantage that you don’t lose half the screen when typing.

Just a thought.

Many years after this post I discovered that Joseph CROSSLAND died on 19 February 1857 in the Lundhill colliery explosion. His body was finally recovered in May 1857 and he was buried in one of the mass graves in Darfield Churchyard.
