Hi, I too am from this line and spent hours tromping round graveyards in Chester le street last year looking for Archies grave.
Question - has anyone found his place of birth? I wonder if maybe his name then was spelled Rammage as has happened before.

Thanks, but now I'm really confused because I also have Elizabeth Huscroft B 1795 marrying Thomas Applegarth b 1798. Both in Bishop Middleham.

Many thanks.
Having seen the entry in the book, I'm not sure how to verify that this is indeed my family member. I once thought that Applegarth was an unusual name(ha, ha)
Thought that there would be details of family, or burial somewhere.

Thomas Applegarth born 1777 - died Darlington 1850. Can find no record of death Help please ! Where do I look ?
Also  A George Applegarth born in Bishop Middleham 1814 shows up in 1851 census in B Middleham with wife Jane, born in Stanhope(?) they have 4 children born in America and 2 born in B.Middleham. Then in 1855 they return to America. Does anyone know who his parents were?
