I'm afraid I've not seen any original registers for, nor have I got any further with, this branch.
I've got Ephraim in my notes, but I need a little more proof to say he is definitely the father of our Daniel - I've been caught out before with different branches of the same surname giving their children the same first names.........!

If you don't have it already I have Ellen's birth certificate.
She was born in Market Street, Tavistock, and John is recorded as a Marine Store Dealer.

I haven't been able to find John in any census - I'm guessing he preferred to move around a lot........!
 

I had an Android tablet, and I thought it was almost useless............
 
It was wifi only, so no access to the internet here apart from on the Guided Busway, but trying to do anything on it while being bounced around in a 'bus was a pointless exercise!
The only thing it was good for was sharing digital photo's - the 10" screen was bigger than 5*7 prints, and it was much more convenient to lug around than an album; provided the battery lasted, of course...........
 
I prefer to use the lappie for everything. I prefer the keyboard, the screen size, internet access (a 3g dongle is a lot cheaper than a 3g tablet), the choice of software I can use, and I don't find it a problem carrying it about - it's light, and I can get other stuff in the same bag!
 
Now the (irreplaceable) battery has given up the ghost on the tablet I won't be getting another one, unless it's cheap enough to warrant only using for photo's.........

I was thinking about changing the charger as well..............!
 

This laptop has just one compartment underneath accessed by two small sliding latches - I move the latches in and the battery falls out.
My other (older) laptop has three compartments, all accessed by undoing tiny screw Phillips head screws, the largest one being for the battery.
Once you've found your replacement on-line you'll be able to tell by the shape/size where it will be located on your laptop.
As Dawnsh said, make sure you get the exact replacement - specification details like voltage in/out and amp/hour ratings should be on a label on the old battery.
One last point. Some of the cheapest replacements don't come with attached leads - these may have to be purchased separately.

It's not a thicko question if you've never done it before, but the hardest bit is deciding whether to spend the extra on a factory replacement or the budget option.
