It looks a lot like Harmond Suffolk. There is a Hammond Suffolk near Bury St Edmonds . Orkrad

Hi  The cholera victims who died in Port-glasgow were buried in the old Blackstone cemetery. Here is a link on what happened to the burials in this cemetery https://docplayer.net/198871305-Port-glasgow-s-three-ancient-graveyards-and-the-cruel-fate-of-one-of-them-john-smith.ht. it makes for sad reading.  It is doubtful if any list of the victims exists though i seem to remember from several years ago that a librarian at Inverclyde library was trying to compile one. Perhaps someone local will come along and provide you with a link. I cant find anything on their online sources that will give access and I no longer live in the area.  Regards Orkrad

Thanks Forfarian. I checked out the archives you mention but the name St Francis Maternity Home   doesnt appear.  It also seems that the records are closed for 75years.
Thanks also Monica L. I read all the information with interest. I did know about the Glasgow online site and read most of the comments and reminiscences. However it doesnt seem like I am going to be able to access the information I wanted.  Best regards to you both. Orkrad

Lanarkshire / St Francis maternity hospital, govan
« on: Sunday 30 May 21 04:13 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone ,Can anyone tell me whether the hospital records for the St Francis hospital still exist. My son was born there in  July 1964 and his birth cert does not record the name of the hospital, only the address 44 Merryland Street .  Were the  babies born there delivered by midwives or by doctors? I am just curious as I have no clear memory of the actual birth, but the care was excellent and the staff were very  solicitous.  This enquiry has been  kindled by watching many episodes of Call the Midwife!

Renfrewshire / Re: Craigmount Bawhirley Rd Greenock

Hi Have a look at this website https://digital.nls.uk/directories/browse/archive/87429100?mode=transcription This is 192 Scottish Post Office directory . The first entry at the top of the page is for a  Rev Muir ,Minister of Cartsburn Parish Church. His house ( the manse) is  called Craigmount on Bawhirley Road. This would suggest your relatives were married at the manse ( as Forfarian has pointed out ) rather than in  a church.  It  would be nice to think that the house still exists and I hope Elaine can find it for you. Regards Orkrad

I think the first name is Agnes 44, the second is Peter . Could they be mother and son? Orkrad
