I think I misinterpreted your message. Thought you were researching the Afflecks.  I do know the Border region and have all the MI's for the family.
Thanks

I have most of the Afflecks in Roxburghshire in my Tree and can account for most of the MI's. Any particular one?

Becky,
Did you make a mistake, you have Fairgrieves on you list, not Fairbairn. I have Fairgrieves in  the Borders attached to Holmes' but not the  Swanstons. Swanston is not really one of the names I am researching but I have some information.

Thanks Becky
Yes I have the Roxburgh MI book and have also viewed them at Roxburgh.  about 18 years ago the descendants of Thomas & Andrew came over to see the headstone and left a note with an Elder of the church, ( someone who knew me ) which I was given on a trip home, my father was also an Elder at that church. Since then I have followed up that part of the family.

The Roxburgh Parish records seemed to be incomplete for this period. I am missing quite a lot of Births and Marriages for this period.  I have read the film and there is not much on it. I don't have a date either,
but I have read the Kirk session records and they got their name on that for Anti-nuptual Irregular Marriage in 1840
Alex.was living at Staindykes in 1838 , Alex. mother, brother & sister are living at Roxburgh in 1841 Census. Janet's father was also at Roxburgh but she may have born in Stitchill, and moved to Roxburgh Her father and mother had most of their children  in Stitchill
My husband and I are both connected to the Holmes family. He is connected to Alex and Janets daughter Margaret and I am connected to one of Alex's brothers family. I have a lot of information of them.
Alexanders' mothers name on his death certificate is incorrect. All his siblings born before and after give the mother as Margaret Burns
Where else would you want to grow up?
