Suffolk Lookup Requests / Re: Mellis St Mary Parish Registers - EMERSON - completed
« on: Monday 11 November 19 03:46 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,
Thanks for reading the post and for those who helped.
I finally had time off on a day when a nearby Family History Centre was open and was able to look at the digitised films of the Partridge transcripts of the Mellis & Gislingham registers.
I was able to find the following entries:
Mellis St Mary
1732/3, Jan 21, Sarah Daughter of Henry & Amy Annison
Gislingham St Mary
1735, Dec 14, Mary ye daughter of Henry & Amye Emmerson
1737, Dec 25, Henry ye son of Henry & Amey Emmerson
1738/9, Mar 19, Mary ye daughter of Henery & Emme Emmerson
There is no entry for a Sarah Emmerson (or anything like it) in Partridge's Gislingham transcripts and Annison is visually close to Amison. I will need to get a sight of the original to confirm the actual surname.
My problem solved and hopefull a help for someone else.
Thanks again,
Sue
