Oops, I mean the 1851 and 1871 census's show regent street as the address, not 1861 and 1881.

Census Lookup and Resource Requests / 1961 census look up request
« on: Tuesday 08 December 09 20:40 GMT (UK)  »

Hi

I'm looking for George Grim on the 1961 Census but can't find him.  I think the name is probably mis transcribed.  He was born around 1810/1811 in Stepney, London and married Sarah Whyberd in 1838.  They had 5 children, names being George, Sarah, James, Hannah and Richard. The first being born 1842 and the last in 1854.

1861 and 1881 Census's show him living at 7 Regent Street, London.  Occupation listed as housekeeper on both so I suspect he will also be there in 1861.

I hope someone can help!  :)

Also, I want to find George's parents names if anyone can help!

Kind regards

Jade

Kerry / O'Connor family in Listowel
« on: Friday 17 July 09 19:12 BST (UK)  »

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone can give me any information on the below people who were all of Curraghatoosane (in Listowel).

Patrick O'Connor (born around 1847), who married Mary ? (born abt 1848).  I believe they married in 1879 and had 8 children, only 4 surviving. I found this information from the 1911 Irish Census.

One of their children was a Thomas O'Connor (born abt 1881) who married Ellen Carmody (bn abt 1886).  I have no idea of the names of any of the other 7.

I am interested to work the line back, and any other info that could be around for any of these people.

Thanks in advance  :)

Jade

Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / Re: Job Martin - Wookey look up please
« on: Monday 15 June 09 21:12 BST (UK)  »
Hi Chas

Well, on the census info I have found, Job's birthplaces are as follows:

1841 - Gloucestershire
1851 - Wookey
1861 - Wookey, Somerset
1871 - Wookey, Somerset
1881 - Glenton Wookey, Gloucestershire.

It seems to fluctuate between Somerset and Glos so I'm not sure which one is correct.  Could it be near Wookey Hole??  I live in Bath and that is the only Wookey i've heard of but the references to Gloucestershire confuse me!

Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / Job Martin - Wookey look up please
« on: Monday 15 June 09 20:28 BST (UK)  »

Hi

I'm looking for the parents and siblings of Job Martin, born around 1818 in Wookey, Gloucestershire. He died in 1889 and was a farmer his whole life (residing in Alveston, then Bitton and Keynsham)

He married a lady called Ann in 1842, her surname is possibly Eades or Martin (perhaps a relative  ??? ).  If anyone could find out which Ann is correct then that would be great.

I would be very grateful for any info on this man and his ancestors.  :)

Thanks

Jade

Thank you so much Jane!!! I really was at a dead end with Sarah Whyberd and couldn't find much about her at all.  Seems you have been very successful in your research and know a lot about the family.

All the info you have provided is extremely helpful and fills in a lot of blanks on my tree!  :D

It's nice to know that the Whyberd name still survives and the spelling hasn't changed again!

Thank you again Jane, and I may well be in touch in the future if I get any more problems with my research.

Kind regards,

Jade  :)
