Just to be sure, you could always check for a burial of a stillborn twin.

Thank you Colin.  I don't think I did that.   

Thank you all for your help.  I'm still having trouble finding the marriage between Susannas parents, but they could have married anywhere, and Ancestry may not have transcribed the records yet. 

Once again, thank you for your help on decihering the maiden name of Maria.

There's a time of birth in the When and Where Born box.  I've only ever seen that put  on the certs of twins. so I assumed she was a twin.  I couldn't find any other child born on that date either, and once again, assumed the child was stillborn and not registered.

Thank you AVM, Susanna was born in St.Pancras, Kentish Town. She was a twin who I assume was stillborn, (I haven't located any records for that baby yet), but know it didn't survive.

Akister as the mothers maiden name (who was born in Yorkshire) still hasn't brought me any luck.  Maybe they never married, who knows;  but thank you for your help, its much appreciated.

This is the birth certificate os Susanna Stevens b 27th November 1839.  Her fathers name is William Stevens and mothers name  Maria  ?   Please can you help me decipher the mothers maiden name?.  I have been trying for months.  Thank  you in advance.
