Just read through the previous posts, so to clear the mist of time.
There were two Thomas's born to Thomas and Martha nee Hamper,
Thomas b1808 married Mary Ann Pannel, emigrated to New Zealand, then Brisbane, Australia, and settled there.( I am in touch with one of the family). All told they had 12 children.
Thomas John b1811, married Hannah Maria Bryer and had 11 children. They resided in Brighton all their married life and were grocers, school teachers, Thomas John ended his working life as editor of the Brighton Examiner.
The Thomas's had three younger siblings, John, Ann & Sarah but the all died young.
Roy G, If you would like info re your line, I may be able to help.

Sussex Lookup Requests / Daniel Etheridge b1664
« on: Tuesday 26 April 11 17:25 BST (UK)  »
Daniel Etheridge, bapt 30 Oct 1664, St Mary's, Thakeham.
I have a marriage for Daniel to Mary Slater, 13 May 1686, Thakeham (my x8 gr grandparents)
I have seen other records of a Daniel marrying a Mary Greenfield, 18 May 1697, West Chiltington (on SMI)
Did Mary, nee Slater die, if so when,  and did Daniel then remarry to Mary Greenfield.
The burial records for Thakeham, if anyone has access, would help me prove if this is the case.

Lancashire / Percy Wall
« on: Wednesday 21 July 10 19:58 BST (UK)  »
It seems as though Percy Ernest Wall & and his wife Mary Elizabeth, nee Harris (married 1899)came on bad times, as on the 1911 census they are living apart.
Percy was in the Salford Workhouse and Mary was living at 74 Holland Street, Pendleton, a servant age 35 & married. It gives her as having three children, all alive.
I have found that there are three Wall children, Ernest George b1901, Clara Elizabeth b1903 & Albert Edward b 1906, all born Salford. They were living at the Culcheth Cottage Homes, Newchurch, Warrington. The home belonging to the Guardians of Salford Union.
Has anyone come across this family in their tree as I would like to bring this line forward.

Thankyou all for your input.
The likelyhood of Hannah Maria being a Symes is very much a distinct possibility. I have yet to find the marriage.
John & Hannah had a daughter, Hannah Maria, born 1812, Broadwater, Sussex, she being my 3rd gr grandmother.  Her marriage to Thomas John Grinyer in 1830, Brighton, Sussex, there were 11 children. The second, a son, was born 1833, named William Symes Grinyer. There are other "Symes" as christian names throughout the Grinyer lines.
Hannah's siblings, that I have found so far are;
Thomas Symes, 12 March 1805, Cranborne.
Harriet, bapt18 Oct 1806, Cranborne
John Edwin, 5 June 1810, Cranborne
Hannah Maria, bapt 23 Aug 1812, St Mary, Broadwater, Sussex
George French, bapt 19 Nov 1819, Cranborne

Somerset / John BRYER marriage
« on: Wednesday 30 June 10 10:30 BST (UK)  »
I'm looking for a marriage, circa 1808 of a John Bryer to a Hannah Maria ?
John, a son, was born 1810 in Cranborne, Dorset. It is possible that the Bryers were originally from Somerset, last known residence was in Broadwater, Sussex.
Anything regarding this family would be much appreciated.

Sussex / Re: Family name of Edouin
« on: Wednesday 30 June 10 07:59 BST (UK)  »
Many thanks Roy G & Omega 1,
I have now started to compile the tree for the Bryers, John Edwin Bryer born 1810, Cranborne, Dorset, married Sarah E Lind (nee May), widow of William Lind.
John turns out to be my 3rd gr grandmother, Hannah Maria Bryer, born Broadwater, c1812, brother.
Have found the five children of John & Sarah, William Frederick Bryer (Edouin) being the youngest. Have read up about him on Wikipedia.
