Thank you, thank you, thank you Antiquary.  I found my guy.  Unfortunately, he died in combat in Cuba the year following my ancestor's birth.

Since your reply (4 years ago) I have linked our 2 families and have found information on your Margaret Brownhill (married to David Low).

She is the daughter of William Brownhill and Margaret Lynch.  She died in Balmerino in 1902.  Cause of death was morbis cordis (heart disease).

Her father, William Brownhill (born 1778 in Meigle, Perth) , was the brother of my ancestor, Margaret Brownhill (born 1788 in Meigle).

Hi David,

I found the first 6 children by looking at the original OPR microfilm, which I obtained through my local LDS Family History Center.  The last 2 children (Helen and Eliza(beth) do not seem to have been christened, but appear on censuses.

Helen appears on the 1841, 1851 and 1861 census (in 1861, she is 30 years old and unmarried and living with her father).

Eliza(beth) Barty is my direct ancestor.  In 1841, she is living with her father (widower) and her sister Helen.  She married in 1851 in Dundee.

Which of William Barty's children do you descend from?  I am in contact with several Barty descendants.  I would love to exchange information with you.

Looking for information on the Strathearn family of Perthshire, more specifically, JANET STRATHEARN, wife of William Barty, born around 1790.  Her children were baptized in Lethendy  - Associate congregation (Mary, Janet, David, Jean, William, John) and Rattray (Elizabeth, Helen).  All were born between 1813 and 1831.

My Will ancestors at this time were still living in Perth.  Thanks anyway.  Do you have the names of the parents of Jean Will?

Concerning your Morris family from Dunino,  I too have a Morris living in Dunino in that time frame.

ANDREW MORRIS and JANE ASHBY were married in Dunino in 1829.  All of their children were born there.  Andrew had a brother named William.  Andrew's parents were:  WILLIAM MORRIS and ELIZABETH SIMPSON.

Any connection?

Thanks Gen10,

This is in fact my family.  I was unable to complete my last message.  It should read:

GEORGE WILL, married ELIZA OR ELIZABETH BARTY in 1851 in Dundee.
