World War Two / Help with War Service of Father-in-Law
« on: Sunday 15 January 23 20:01 GMT (UK)  »
I have over the years found and constructed Family trees for my Fathers and Mothers family back to approx 1852.

But for my Wife's family, I have found where her Mother born and lived in London as a child.

But her Father, the family has no idea of his army details only that he was a driver in army and said to have served in Europe, North Africa, Italy and Israel during WWII and discharged late 40's.

How can any records be found when I or we don't know his Regiment or army number to search.

thanks

thanks,

At some point he may have changed units as his photo shows his uniform being in Royal Armoured Corps and kept his number.

For sometime I have tried on and off searching for info:

My Father-in-law who served as told in WW2 North Africa, Israel and Italy.
No one knows his regiment, army number etc. all we know he was a driver.
Mervyn Evans - DOB 1924 approx - Wales - also survived

Also Uncle who served as told in WW2 Norway.
No one knows his regiment, army number: 14771982 (have searched using the number given with no results) or his involvement.
Thomas Keyes - DOB 1928 approx - England - also survived.

If anyone could find any links please send me any info etc

Thank You

Its been awhile since last here,

Since have tried researching 'Tohmas Nash' on the narrow boat 'Clara'.

Can ask here, who owned or operated  'CLARA; No7, Wooden butty with fore cabin, BCN gauging No 784'. Trying to go beyond 1881

I believe his parents are John Nash - Eliza Harriet Martha

Canada / Re: Arrival in Winnipeg 1920 - W.H. Dangerfield
« on: Tuesday 15 September 15 16:45 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,

Picked up again, to go alttle with my searches.

Can anyone help for Mary Jane Gilbert (Nee Dangerfield) born: 1885, she is already mentioned above living in Winnipeg with John Gilbert  and two boys also Simon is living with her in 1911.

Did she ever return to England for good, as I have a Jane Dangerfield born: 1876 which I thought lived here in West Bromwhich into the 1960's.

But a distant family descendant claims Jane died at 12mths. Yet i remember a Auntie as Jane (jinny/Jenny) so was she Mary Jane.

Thanks

Sorry, I might have gone abit too far for the 60s & 70's.

It was certainly in the 1950's as my wife spent her school summer holidays there.

thanks
