Hi,
I am trying to trace John H Fincken who married Maud E Smith in 1917 Hartlepool. I cant find any record of this birth. I am assuming he was born somewhere around 1897, but not necessarily in Hartlepool. I know some of the Finckens came from London in the late 1880's etc, so could be from St George in the East - London.
What I do know is that they had a son called John Henry who was born 1920 - he married Eveline Rutherford. Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

On the family tree on Ancestry they have Alexander living around Lanark, but moving between Bothwell and Stirlng several times.....I can only assume one of the connections is wrong, the parents were in a location other than home when the baby was born. Looking on map the two locations are not far apart, and it appears the whole family had connections in both places.
The tree the other person has built has lots of scripts and documents from various sources, including residency documents

They have it as St Ninians. They also have a sister to William called Helen who married another William Forsyth!!! His parents are James Forsyth and Jane Aitken.

Looks like on all sites (FS, Scotland People, and Ancestry), the only Margaret Aitken marrying a Forsyth is 1808.
I have 2 children born to Margaret Aitken and Alexander Forsyth (William and Helen)

Thanks for that info.
Using Bothwell and looking for Margaret and Alexander I get one returned result.
In terms of marriages the only Margaret Aitken to Marry a Forsyth was 1808 and that was a Andrew in Barony.
Just widening the search a little by taking first names out.

I always have problems using FS......for some reason I always get 100's of records returned.
I suppose I could try the 1841 census for an Alexander with wife Margaret.
Searching Scotland People brings back a possible 3 or 4 marriages.
Also searching deaths of Alexander with wife Margaret....and various census
