Just thought I'd pile - tidily - in, behind you.

You never know how things will pan out. Years back I almost accidentally made e-mail contact with a rellie of my OH. He seemed quite keen, I posted loads of carefully drawn out tree / copies of information, quite a big parcel, expensive in time and effort as well, as he wanted some medical information as well, out to him in Australia .... no reply. After a month or two I e-mailed him again, asking him if he'd got all the stuff safely ... to this day I've heard no more. I class that as mere bad manners - but heaven help him if he ever contacts us again wanting information!
To my mind, that was far worse than merely ignoring well-intentioned information.

I said right at the start of this that Viktoria would be the lady to know!

I plant the ones I spread by splitting overcrowded groups, in the green after they've flowered and had a bit of a rest - but I also was given some nice plump snowdrop bulbs, in the autumn, so planted those as well.

All I can recall my parents saying about clothing coupons was that items offered in a shop would state "XYZ" coupons - and as well as paying the price, one had to surrender the correct number of coupons. Wartime garments tended to be a bit skimpy, to reduce the number of coupons needed. I seem to recall my mother saying that hats did not need coupons.
When someone in a family was getting married, often other members would contribute coupons ( for a trousseau?) and I believe that parachute silk was greatly in demand to make underwear and nighties, as that was also available without coupons.
"Viktoria" would be the best person to answer your questions - usually available on "Totally off topic" board. Ask her.

The building of a new fence on one side of our garden caused setbacks ( or is it "setsback"?) since autumn, but I recorded ONE solitary snowdrop bloom on Christmas day - and it's still there, albeit rather motheaten looking - but of the hundreds I've planted in past years, in the same raised place, around a tree visible from the conservatory, and the few dozen I topped them up with last autumn? - nary a sign!

If she was an actual direct "Ancestor", then she could not really have died and been buried in with an adult, in the same coffin!

I think it's stopped a lot of us simply going potty over all this time!
