... Sometimes we almost wonder if we exist, or are we figments of someone's imagination!
"I research, therefore I am" or were we dropped down by aliens???
(Bad day, so far - need to stop taking things seriously"

Yes, Oriel college, or the window shape / structure. Clear enough.

I'm going to try to get down to doing mine today. I got a small bale of the straw from "The Range", and will extract some from what's left of that.

Mesh drawstring net bags with fresh barley straw in it, weighed down with a hefty stone will sort out your pond's green hue, Viktoria. I have 4 large ones in one pond, three in another, and two in the smallest. Take out each winter, let the straw go on a border or compost heap, wash the bags - I do them with garden fleeces in a big net bag in the washer. When dry re-fill with new straw, tie in a bow and re-sink. Worked for years, no effort, really.

The Lighter Side / Re: Immigrating and Returning Home

My own grandfather left England for Canada after WW1, and my own father was born there, in the early 1920s. There were already family over there, mostly Isherwoods, but others, too. Think most of the Isherwoods moved to U.S.A. eventually.
Before WW2 my grandparents returned, taking up farming in an area they didn't know well, and my father stayed in Britain for the rest of his days, but he'd always hoped to return to Canada. Never did.

When I was trying to find an elusive Railway Driver, not in London, a member called "Red Roger" gave me good advice, and eventually I found my great grandpa!
There's always an expert -or ten - to help, on here.
