hi thanks for the reply's , no he didnt die in 1944 , he was a photographer , will try and find out his date of birth .

Right i was telling my partner about this site , and he said he would like to know more about his grandad again he has tried looking on the internet but came up with notihing , so can any one help ?? all we have on him is that his name  was Keith durn and he joined the RAF , in his obituary it says he wa part of the dam busters and was mentioned in dispatches , we have found a keith dunn , could this of been a spelling mistake on there part ??

I need some help trying to find some info on my adoptive nan's brother , all ive got on him is a letter from george R.I to his family , and on the letter someone else has written , GNR James o' brien R. A killed 22nd july 1944 in normandy. can any one help with this one ?????

I have got a bit of paperwork that my grandad put together of my great grandad , and i have been trying to find his name on a few military sites but im having a lot of trouble. so can any one please help , here is what s written on the paperwork i cant ask my grandad as he has just recently passed away .

this next part i dont understand . HO 175 of 1933 £5.00 paid 31.8.1937  W.O. CL.2  What does it mean ?

Kings silver jubilee ( george V & queen mary 1910/35
1939/45 Star.         LFT.
France & germany star. Major
1939/45 defence medal  . Major.
1939/45 war medal & oak leaf ( mention in despatches ).
George VI for meritorious service .

So please can any one help or point me in the right direction . i would be so grateful .
