So, I'm researching this couple:
Marriage date   09 Feb 1858
District Church, Llannerchymedd, Anglesey, Wales
Evan Williams, Aged 20, bachelor, Butcher, of Tan Yr Hall (Tan yr Hall, Llannerch-y-medd)
~ Father John Williams, Butcher
Margaret Jones, Aged 18, spinster Menai Bridge Inn
~ Father   ??? Jones, Publican
By Banns, both signed
Witnesses: Richard Parry, William Owen
Record set   Anglesey Marriages And Banns
(Find-My-Past)

Are you still active?  Have failed to pick her up in census, before she marries, but she was born in Liverpool, Lancashire.

Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / Re: HOYLES and SIMPSON in Spilsby area (Halton)
« on: Thursday 20 October 16 09:06 BST (UK)  »
I know these are ancient messages, but trying to reach out here!

I'm researching an Azuba(h) BASKER of Ashby-By-Partney, bapt 1792.

On census, I get Azubah HOYLES (and many other records), of Halton (next door parish to Ashby) widow GREEN when she married Robert HOYLES, and nee SIMPSON when she married John GREEN in Halton Holgate.  (He's buried in Friskney not long before she marries Robert, in the same parish).

So she's probably not mine, but just in case any of you were interested....

It has crossed my mind that my one's mother (Frances nee COWLAM) may have remarried a SIMPSON, as there's no records of BASKERs after the father drowns in the river... but putting this on here might save me the task of trying to find *that* link, when it looks as if your HOYLES & SIMPSONS are double linked in many ways!

Thanks Sarah…
~ I noticed the comment about her email address, but thought she might come back in here one day, and find me!  I could probably chase her down if I felt so inclined, but I've put the WAIDES to bed for now, and gone back to some of my more important brick walls!

LOL

I knew Jack (John Marshall) Stewart, personally, when I was very young.  My Mum (now aged 90) might remember more about him than I do.

It's a complicated family relationship, but I'd love details of the Will, without traipsing to archives to find it.  He's not related personally, but I have very fond memories of his widow in particular, who always treated me to little gifts from trips overseas.

He farmed at Tahuna, the district my gt. grandfather settled in the early 20th century, and I'm sure I'm related to most of the people there!!

ah no, Daniel's father Daniel died on 5 October 1884, and it's his Will that's online.  Daniel jnr died intestate, and letters of administration were granted to Elizabeth (as per her Will).

There is a Memorial Inscription (online) detailing the two Daniels and other family members, with jnr's death at age 34 on 23 Jul 1876, two years before Elizabeth remarried.

Hi,
Daniel WAIDE married Eliza White in Glenarm Presbyterian Church, Larne District on 26 Aug 1867. Daniel died on 5 Oct 1874 and a will is available in PRONI.

Regards

Hey folks… in an idle moment I decided to look for the birth/place of Benjamin White WAIDE, which then led me to wonder more about his family and so on… and here you all are providing information for another New Zealander.

Daniel & Elizabeth's eldest grandson, born here in NZ, was my dearly beloved gt. uncle by marriage. I also called his siblings the courtesy title of Aunt Lizzie and Uncle Dan, so the names lived on, although only Lizzie had children, all daughters, so that branch of the WAIDE name has died out.

Anyway, this is just a general thank you for the records I'll use, and I'd like to hear directly from Kathy, so get in touch with me please.

Along with a small fortune from my gt. Uncle I also inherited a beautiful oil on wood painting, of a youngish woman that no~one in my family ever recalls seeing before it was found, wrapped in brown paper and string, on a wardrobe shelf.  I've had it dated to mid~18th century, and I wonder if you might recognise it, if you have other family memorabilia.

p.p.s
June TOWLER was baptised in Methwold on 19 June 1785 (giving  a reason for his unusual name, which has also been sighted as Juno!)

His mother was Ann.  He was illegitimate/base borne.

p.s.

Yes, I have all the Census records for Thomas, until he disappears, before his widow remarries in 1869.

He's not buried at Brandon.  By then his adult family had scattered, several to Surrey and environs.

Ohhhhh, and in the above post I see that three "qustion marks" have translated as an emoticon I would not have used!!!

Hello,

I can't recognise your enquiry in regards to who I have been in contact with, (I'm in touch with many people atvarying times) but as you're obviously using my research information to look for Thomas' records I can assume we've been in touch.

Although it is a good idea to re~confirm what I have found in my years of TOWLER research, (along with that of others) I thought it would have been sensible to ask me about the source of the Wisbech baptism!! My veto on publishing private research on the web shouldn't preclude your keeping in touch for further information, that I'm always willing to share with genuine researchers and family members!

In 2003 I visited Wisbech itself, and looked at the transcriptions (index cards) for the Parish records. Indexed as the son of June & Elizabeth FOWLER was our Thomas. (After years of chasing this family... I know to always look at FOWLER!!!)

Knowing that June & Elizabeth were TOWLERs of Brandon made the link absolute, given that I had already sighted Thomas and family on the 1861 Census, giving his place of birth as Wisbech.  (Yes.. in the intervening ten years since the 1851 Census, he must have learned his real birth/baptism place was neither Weeting, nor Brandon!)

I have a copy of the original baptism entry, (17th Feb 1811) which clearly showed there had been a typical transcription error, and TOWLER is how it should have appeared in the index cards.  The cards were changed accordingly, at my request... in agreement with the curator/archivist.  On~line indexes had already been published on the web (I believe) by that time.. erroneously.

See how simple it would have been to ask me?????

Two other children were baptised to June & Elizabeth in Wisbech, their fourth (assumed) was baptised in Brandon, followed by another two in Weeting.  It's hardly surprising that Thomas was uncertain where he was born, given the family's movements in and out of the area that borders three counties, during his child~hood.

Oh, thank~you David, for responding to the original enqueries.
