Armed Forces / What are the chances

Great Uncle Joseph Beer joined the Navy during WW1 (have the picture to prove it) but he was constantly sea sick so went AWOL back to his sisters who burnt his uniform.
To avoid the military police he enlisted in the army under his brother Frank's name, The Royal Engineers, and was killed in Bagdad in 21/10/1917.
What I want to find out is how to trace his Navy records.

I am one of the 4,200 census enumerators for this years Irish census, I'm wondering should I mix up all the names and addresses just to give the genealogists of the future something to really hunt for ;)

She was a fabulous woman who lead a rather exciting life being a night club actress in London, Paris, Belgium and Africa from the 1950s
