Joseph Beer, born Alwington, Devon, 1848.
He moved to Wales with his wife Bessie about 1880.
I have him on all the census up to 1891 but then he dissappeared.
The family story goes that one morning about 1900 he picked up his work tools (he was a mason) and left never to return.
Bessie on the 1901 states that she is wife and married (although she was actually the head of the family)
His father Joseph Beer died back in Devon in 1900, I wondered if he had gone back there but no sign of him.
He must have gone somewhere but where.
