Cougar you little gem!!! I think Williams Occupation would be cheesemonger.
Jno would be brother John the age is right, William Jones Occ could be either cheesemonger, Poulterer or servent! Berthe is a new addition :-) I know its a bit of a cheek but is it possible to have a copy of the image *pleading looks*

I'd like to check the entry for hertfordshire as on the 1861 it has hereforshire for John???

Also could you do me another favour I know its really cheeky but could you check the same street for a family called Guyer. I know they are there but cant find them on the partial 1851 that I have. One of Williams sister married one of them  *g*

(hugs)

Hi back to Willaim Taylor again  :o  I got his entry in the 1861 and he was residing at 35 Little Pulteney St  Berwick street Westminster, the same address in 1851 is under the name of John Taylor according to a directory I have.

Thanks for looking

I have a box of his service history and other items form his life including postcards from his wife Jesse and a photograph album. I would like it to go to someone who is related to him, as I know he had no children.

He married my grandmother in 1958 his second wife.

OHHHH so may but favoites were my Circus lot

Bishop as Birkett in 1871 Birkenhead
Dismore as Lismore 1851 Plymouth (Only found this one as she was with her mother  ;D )
Hawker as Hawken 1871 Bristol
I've had Bristol in Cornwall 1871. Bodmin as  Bosmin 1871.  Redruth as Redmith 1871.
My Favorite though is Saudi Arabian Republic as Surrey in 1891, thank goodness her twin in the same entry had Surrey  ::)

Travelling People / Re: Circus Clown Dorset.
« on: Sunday 13 February 05 20:36 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

It might be an idea if you write to Worlds Fair the magazine for Circus people at http://www.worldsfair.co.uk/wf/subscribe.php. They have given me lots of information about my own circus ancestors.

As Circus people moved around a great deal they could be anywhere and  Census are open to error.  My own Bishops were mistranscribed as Birkett.  It really does mean  thinking outside the box when looking for those elusive circus ancestors.

Also do you know which circus he was with in 1875 or any other date. You could always write to http://www.shef.ac.uk/nfa/index.php which is the circus freinds association, they are too very helpful.

Good Luck in your search

regards

Jenny

He would be between 34 and 37 and claims he was born in St James Westminster. Also he goes between being a Provisions merchant to a Poulterer, depending on the census.

Thanks for asking

Looking for Charles and Louisa Roffey in the nunhead/peckham area of Camberwell
. I got a reference of The genealogist as RG10/ 384 4 I think it is only a partial index and if so I will be annoyed as I paid 5 pounds for that info :-(.

Thanks for looking
