The Hereford Journal Jan 1817 carries an advert for several farms "...TO BE LET (and entered upon at Candlemas next)".
One farm listed, "NYADD LLWYD, LLANVEYNOE" is in the possession of Mr Benjamin Whistance.

FindMyPast has an Army Service Record for a Benjamin Whistance, born Shrewsbury, aged 22 at date of attestation on 20 July 1815 - giving estimated date of birth of 1793. There are 9 images available

Devon Lookup Requests / Re: Baptism/Burial SILVERTON/Abbotskerswell please
« on: Sunday 14 October 12 18:57 BST (UK)  »
The Silverton baptisms on IGI Family Search are on batch no C051681 (1620 - 1837). The batch does not include a Jane Vinnicombe (or variant) c.1788

However, IGI Family Search has a Jane Vinicombe, bap. 15 June 1788 at Bickleigh, near Exeter, Devon. Parents are John and Jane Vinicombe.

Bickleigh is just North of Silverton. Possibility?

PENYGROES LLANGYFNI.
We are happy to record that two Dyffryn Nantlle boys have been quite successful in their examination in Bangor University, that is to say Mr E Shelton Roberts, Sea View; and G Llewellyn Jones, Felin Garreg. The examination belongs to the medical department, Glasgow University. The pair prepared in advance under the instruction of the Rev Cynffig Davis, BA.

The Common Room / Re: 1885/1886 ship voyage dates.
« on: Tuesday 02 October 12 20:44 BST (UK)  »
Couple of "sightings" from the Shipping Intelligence of several papers -

12 Oct 1885 - "St Athens, from Burghead ... at Stettin 9th inst"

1 Dec 1885 - "HOME ARRIVALS Liverpool 29th, St Athens, Stettin"

3 March 1886 - "ARRIVALS AT SHARPNESS March 2 St Athens, McDougall, 99, Westport, oats"
(think "99" is the tonnage of the ship?)

6 March 1886 "PORT OF GLOUCESTER Imports for the week ending March 4
Westport - St Athens, McDOugall, 1,014qrs oats, for Clinch and Co"

19 Mar 1886 - "SHARPNESS SAILINGS St Athens, McDougall, Plymouth, salt"

Various reports mid April 1886 "... left Plymouth on the 12th inst for Runcorn (china clay)"
