Just spotted "Beehive" (one of those named on the 1911 Census on Church Street)

On the 1901 Census Rose Cottage is next to the Red Lion (Red Lion in Church Street on modern map) and the Golden Lion is next to St Cadog's Church.
Yet to spot a Golden Lion on old maps.

Have walked Streetview looking for any of the house names listed on the 1911 Census - again without success.

On the 1911 Census there's George and Mary Wilding at Rose Cottage. It appears to be on Church Street, between the "Golden Lion" and the "Castle Hotel" in "Queen Square". Can find a Castle Hotel in Llangadock on Queen Square but not a Golden Lion - need to check out old maps.

Looks ok - but I don't (or, rather, can't copy/paste) - hence have to type it out!!!

I checked out "licensing" re. a separate post some while ago. Many prisoners would have preferred transportation.

ShaunJ at #6 on your original thread referred to his release on licence (21 July 1855)

Guess it must have been some sort of military thing.
