Hi Elwyn, yes I saw that and St Mary's church was founded in 1845. I wondered where else someone might have been baptised.

Thank you.. I Know his name ( James O'Neill)and have him on 1901 and 1911 census, I have a death registration for him (who I thought might be him) in July 1920.. and His wife (Esther O'Neill) in july 1921 (in the Magherafelt workhouse which states she was married not widowed) So I have since found a death in Sept 1921 which maybe  him , although the age is out !::)  Still hunting till I can confirm it ha!

Thank you all for your help.

Can't find him on there. !920 seems not to come up. I found it on Ancestry select Catholic Death and Burial registers.. which only gives the registry entry and I'm not totally sure it's the right man yet.

Derry (Londonderry) / Death register

My 2nd great grandfather died 1920 in Londonderry.. On the Catholic death and burial registers  it gives the date....his Name...., Ex.The Barracks. Then his age 86 when he was buried and where..

My question and excuse what may seem a daft one but.. where were the Barracks? would he have lived there? I don't think he was a soldier!

Hi All,

Well I thought it might be Farrar, but the " F" is bothering me why the down stroke at the end?

I wish I had some more of the handwriting, but it's just the witness signature & it's their own hand (no X)
The other witness has beautiful handwriting
