Mary Osborn was in th Poor House in Calstock in 1827 when she gave birth to John Martin Osborn. How did she get there and where was she prior to and after this date .
Does anybody know where I can get infomation on the poor house in Calstock.

Thank you all!!!!! this information has been of great help. Joseph OSBORNE was my gt gt grandfather. So it looks like I have been barking up the worng tree, Amelia was not Joseph's mother and the person I should have been researching is Mary Ann WILLIAMS.
This area of Cornwall is very unfamiliar to me and I am finding it difficult to find my bearings.

Thank you all once again for you help.

Any further information on John OSBORNE and Mary Ann WILLIAMS would be greatly appreciated.

Anybody have any information on Amelia who married John Osborne circa 1850's. They are both from the Mawnan area and sons Joseph and Wm H were stated as being born in Mawnan on 1981 census when living in Wales
