« on: Saturday 24 September 22 07:43 BST (UK)  »
There is a tree on Ancestry named the (McHendry/Meeke) wider tree by H Meeke

Rose (Ellen) McHendry died 1926 at Cullraney, Antrim, Ireland.      She was born 15 July 1878 at Antrim, Ireland.     Her parents were John McHendry and Ellen Palmer.       She married Neil McPhee.

Rose (Ellen) and Neil had 4 children.    Their details are on this tree.

Technical Help / Problem loading photos onto Timeline on Ancestry
« on: Wednesday 21 September 22 11:29 BST (UK)  »
Usually I have no problem when I load a photo from the Gallery on Ancestry onto the Timeline of an ancestor.       Lately, the photo appears perfectly fine in the gallery - yet when I load it onto the the Timeline, the head of my ancestor is chopped off.    That is to say that somehow the top inch or so of the photo appears to be cropped off.       Can't figure out how to fix it.       Can anyone help?

P.S.   I feel sure that it is something to do with the scanning process.

Lanarkshire / Re: McNairn MacNairn ??

Regarding the daughter born in 1924 at Old Monkland, my 79 year old brain spies a Jane Bell McNairn, born 1924 at Old Monkland.      I just wonder if you have an ancestor in this line with the name Bell?

I don't know if this is helpful or not, but I saw a tree where Grace Hancock married a Harker.

                                        1939 Register
Line Cottage Hill St, Andover, Hampshire.

                                        Grace Harker, b 18 Oct 1906, Housewife
                                        Deborah C Harker, b 23 May 1892, Stage Scenery
Veronica Harker b 2 Apr 1909, Scenic Artist, Traveller
Roland Harker, b 3 May 1895, Scenic Artist
                                        Colin C, b 23 Mar? 1897, Scenic Artist

Perhaps you could look for marriages of the above, then their children....

Lanarkshire / Re: Drummond burial Glasgow Necropolis 1796

If you google "Old Parish Records - Glasgow Family History" they give you contact details for the Mitchell Library, North St, Glasgow.      Phone number: 0141 - 287 8364     Or else you could use their email address: genealogy@glasgow.gov.uk

They may help.     I contacted the Mitchell about a long lost relative years ago and they were a tremendous help.      Good luck with it.

The first burial at the Necropolis was 12 Sept 1832, a Joseph Levy, who was Jewish.    The first burials were for Jewish people at the north eastern side on low ground.

There is an Eastern Necropolis, which is right next to Celtic Park, and a Southern Necropolis, and a Western Necropolis.       It seems probable that your ancestor was buried in one of these cemeteries.    If you know the whereabouts in Glasgow she was living, then it might identify which one of these three it might be.

When people refer to "The" Necropolis they mean the main one, the one that opened in 1832.
Otherwise they give the name Eastern, or Western, or Southern Necropolis.

The main one, The Necropolis, is built on a hill and has a grand view of Glasgow Cathedral, etc.

Peter McLure is also on the Glasgow Electoral Registers on Ancestry.     He is living at 522 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, and his occupation is "Smith".      So that just confirms what you already have.

The earliest date they are at 5 Rigby Street is 1913-14.     It is on Ancestry.    They stayed at Rigby St from 1914-15 up until 1920, then they are at 17 Earle Street.      Sometimes on the register, Sarah Elizabeth is down as just plain Elizabeth.       In 1925, Robert, Elizabeth and James are living at 17 Earle St.
