Ayrshire / Looking for a Death
« on: Sunday 26 June 22 07:59 BST (UK)  »
Hi, Hoping someone can help me. Today I was on SP looking for different family members. I had a lot of success but one person is eluding me.
I am looking for the death of Elizabeth Clark. She married John Love on the 29 August 1870 at Stewarton, Ayrshire. Her parents were Colin Clark and Catherine Mc Millian. (I haven't looked for them yet)  John love died on the 6th March 1924 at 11 New Street, Beith. On his death certificate, he is the widower of Elizabeth Clark.
The last time I have Elizabeth is on the 1911 Census.
So she died sometime between 1911 and 1924 but I can not find her.
Her son Robert (my mother in laws father ) died in 1912.
Many thanks for taking the time to help.

London and Middlesex / Where were they Buried?
« on: Sunday 08 May 22 04:03 BST (UK)  »
Right out of my Depth here. I have 2 Deaths and I would like to find out where they are buried.
The first one is William Stephen BIDDISS born in 1877 at Saint Saviour Surrey, The son of Thomas John Biddiss and Catherine Butler Ray He married Emily Mary Ann BIDDISS in 1904. ( probably Cousins) St John Walworth, Southwark is where I think they married. I found a family that may fit on the free search of 1921 living in Newington. I had to guess as they were EM and WS.
William Stephen BIDDISS died in 1927 aged 49.
Emily Mary Ann BIDDISS  died in 1944 aged 61.
Any Directions or help would be much appreciated.
Carol Biddiss (New Zealand)

P.s. Just reading this through and realise I haven't had a look at the 1939 Register. Off to do that now.

Yorkshire (North Riding) / I have a stray. Who are his parents?
« on: Sunday 01 May 22 04:55 BST (UK)  »
I have a William Stonehouse. This gentleman died on 16th Feb 1796 and is buried at St Oswald's churchyard in Lythe. He had a wife Mary who died on the 9th of March 1816. He also had a son, Robert Stonehouse died in 1804. All buried together.
Headstone reads;
In Memory of WILLIAM STONEHOUSE of Lythe who died 16th  Feb 1796 aged 62 yrs
also MARY his wife who died 9th  March 1816 aged 63 yrs
also ROBERT their son Mariner who died at Sheerness 4th Nov 1804 aged 25 yrs.
I have been on Find A Grave but nothing there.
I think his parents may be John Stonehouse b 1706 and Elizabeth Campion b 1713. I have found 2 children for them. Rodger b 1732 and Nathaniel b 1738 but no proof William is theirs, although there is a place for him to slot into.
Family Search Trees are all over the place and I can not make a connection.
Any Shove in the right direction will be of help. I only use the free sites.
Many Thanks
Carol
Edit 1796 NOT 1896
Thanks, Rosie

Durham Lookup Requests / Mary Ann Stonehouse nee Johnson
« on: Friday 15 April 22 00:32 BST (UK)  »
Looking for the resting place of a Mary Ann Stonehouse nee Johnson. The last sight I have of her is the 1911 Census. She is the head of the household living in Stokesley age 67, She was born in 1845. With her is Mary Jane Stonehouse age 26. I have found a death for a Mary Ann Stonehouse in the March Quater of 1915 in Darlington age 70. ( GRO index )
Her husband Christopher died in 1884 and is buried in St Augustine Kirkby in Cleveland.
As all our charges have gone up for overseas transactions I want to be sure it's her before I buy the certificate.
Is there any Cemetery information online. I know there was a Remembrance book for Darlington that you could search but my link no longer works.
Thanks in advance for any information or direction you can give.
