Lincolnshire / Suthworth
« on: Saturday 30 April 11 20:55 BST (UK)  »
Has anyone ever heard of this place? I just did a quick google search and found nothing. Could this be a old spelling/previous name of 'Susworth'? (although the photo isn't that old so I guess this is unlikely). I have a school photograph with 'Suthworth School' on the board (held by the child at the front) but it would make a lot more sense for it to be Susworth. Unless it's not in Lincs at all...

If anyone could improve this photo I would be v grateful. I'm hoping to copy it for a relative but it's a little shabby.

Thanks :)

I meant that Ann (the daughter of Edward and Ann) is the mother of the Thomas on the census in my first post. I think?

Thank you! That's it. Forgot I found this a while ago http://www.wparkinson.com/pdf/Harrison.pdf which says his mother is Ann b.1812, daughter of Edward and Ann (if I've read it correctly!).

Thanks. I just looked on the pilot family search site and it says Edward and Ann had a Thomas bap. 2 Oct 1820 and died 5 Oct 1820 as well as the Thomas you found. Quite confused now! I do think the Thomas on the census is a grandchild though.

Just looked them up on the 1851 census and they have another grandchild living with them but not Thomas. Is the age of Hannah 3 or 13? And what does it say in the occupation section next to her name? I thought it would be scholar but it's written really clearly for others on the same page.

So she would have been 49 when Thomas was born (if she is actually his mother). I was also thinking that he is likely to be the son of another child who'd left home (Charlotte would surely be too young?) but I suppose anything's possible. It appears that he was raised as a son though.

Thanks for the all the help :)
