Many researchers hit a brick wall when a forebear seems to disappear without trace at some point in adulthood.
My problem is that my elusive forebear - born in England according to 1891/1901 census appears for the first time in 1885 (his marriage) and I have all the information about him until he dies in 1910 - zilch before 1885.
(Am not posting his name as have done in the past and no one has been able to trace him before 1885.)
The only reason I can think of for my not finding him is that he changed his name at some point - can anyone suggest another reason why he is so elusive?
