Some family trees indicate that James' father Thomas (b1791) may have married twice.  Whilst our records indicate he married Ann Shipton in 1821 (I don't have a death date), some family trees have him marrying a Mary Agnes Walker who died in 1846.  It would be good to have this verified, and with dates.

Hello, James & Elizabeth are my great great grandparents.  I am interested in learning more about James' father Thomas and his career as a Master Gardener, where he trained and worked.  James, on arrival in Australia appears to have taken up farming with a land owning cousin Rev. J. Clow.  I would like to find information on the Beilby/Clow connection.  Gigi4

I gather Walton, is a place in Yorkshire, England.  Yes I think it will be hard to find anything on Thomas Beilby (Beelby) and his career as a Master Gardener.

Where should I start looking for information regarding Thomas Beilby's occupation as a Master Gardener?  In 1861 census, aged 69, at Walton Grange, Private House.  Gigi4

Hello Pam and thank you for the contact.  I don't have a copy of the marriage certificate. My records indicate that James was accompanied by two brothers Thomas and Jack to Australia and that George William, Reuben and 3 sisters (one Sofia) stayed in England.  Do you have any information of James' father Thomas and his mother Ann?  I am keen to go back as far as possible.  Do you have a family tree?  Gigi4

I am a descendant of James Beilby b.1830, Yorkshire.  He married Elizabeth Baker 1827. James and Elizabeth sailed to Australia on the Caroline Agnes 1849.  I am interested in finding information on the ancestors of James and Elizabeth.

Suffolk / Re: For att. of petey22 - Grave of Nehemiah ROGERS

Hi Pete, re Jennifer's info.  The Oliver Rogers who came to Australia was the son of Nehemiah Rogers and Ann Hill, NOT Nehemiah and Hannah (they were Oliver's grandparents).  Nehemiah and Ann had 5 other children, one was my great grandfather, Stephen.  I have baptismal records that verify all this.  There are so many Nehemiah's in the family in get's confusing.  Those who came to Australia had huge families and there is a Nehemiah in all of them!  That's how I find many relatives, as we all seem to go back to Nehemiah and Ann.  My records indicate that Nehemiah (the first) and his wife Hannah only had this one child, Nehemiah, b. 1792 in Clapton in Gordano, Somerset..  I think there is something wrong with the dates as well in Jennifer's information ie. birth and marriage dates!!  Gigi4

Hello Pete, I am a descendant of Nehemiah Rogers & Hannah Johnson via Stephen (their grandson) & Hannah Stephens who came to Australia in 1856.  I am wondering if you were able to verify the buriel site and tomb as that of this 'Nehemiah'. Gigi4
