Perthshire / Re: Memorial Inscription's Caputh Graveyard

Thank you Evelina,
I appreciate the lookup very much. The Borries you mention do not strike a chord with me at this time. Can you tell me if there are MI's for Dunkeld, Little Dunkeld, Dowally and Moneydie? Some of these places are mentioned in the births of my Borrie children. When their three boys grew they moved to the Isle of Mull. They were all gardener's by occupation as was their father William. I have found nothing to suggest the parents went to Mull as well, so I keep looking for them in the Dunkeld area.

Regards,
Barry.

Hello Evelina,

I am wondering if you would mind looking in the Caputh MI's please, for any persons by the surname BORRIE (also spelt BORRY). I am trying to find the burial place of my ancestors William BORRY and hs wife Marjorie McCRA (aka Margaret or May or Mary McCRAW). They were married in Caputh in 1791. I've not been able to find their year of death or mention of them after 1802 with the birth of their last child, so now I am clutching at straws.

Regards
Barry Howard.

Australia Lookups completed / Re: Historical Newspapers Online
« on: Tuesday 29 July 08 23:28 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I don't know why you are having problems with the "Paper of Record" website. I use it all the time with no trouble. There are hundred of Newspapers on it and I use frequently the Australian Newspaper "Port Phillip Herald". You can access the website on the following link but you will need to register -

http://www.paperofrecord.com/Default.asp

There is also a free site to access New Zealand Historic newspapers which I have found to be very, very good.

Perthshire / Re: Census 1795/1841/1851 Dunkeld lookup BORRIE
« on: Wednesday 04 May 05 12:00 BST (UK)  »
Hi Ann,
Thank you for that information, but yes you are right, I had already found those records in the IGI files. I also found records of some of William and Marjory's children yet my David Borrie is not listed among them, so I was hoping someone had access to a census or something like that in which his name might be mentioned.

Thank you again for your reply to my message, I appreciate it very much.

Regards,
Barry

« on: Wednesday 16 March 05 12:35 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Rick,
Thanks for that Deller lookup, I have since found that my Dellers may have been at Watford around the time of the census. My gggrandmother Martha married in that town in 1853.

I will keep those Dellers you found on file they may fit in somewhere.

Cheers,
Barry

Offaly (Kings) / Marriage lookup Howard and Neil/O'Neil/Neal
« on: Sunday 20 February 05 11:29 GMT (UK)  »
First time here so I hope I've done it right.
I'm searching for the marriage record of my ancestors - John HOWARD and Catherine NEIL, married at Birr, Kings Co. 1839.

His parents - John HOWARD (a whitesmith) and Mary FLANAGHAN of Kings Co. , Catherine Neil was from Carlow. They migrated to Australia in 1841 and their shipping record has them as Protestant but all of their children born in Melbourne were baptized Roman Catholic. Any ideas or advice or assistance much appreciated.

cheers
BH
