Anyone know of a shop that sold leather goods in Bristol during the the 1960s, it belonged to a family with the last name of Chafai.

The shop may have been near Knowle.

Cambridgeshire / help to find obituary in a local paper 1993
« on: Wednesday 07 September 22 10:42 BST (UK)  »
Hi there.
I have tried the usual places, newspapers , payed websites and such but cant find an obituary notice for a Peter Drake who died aged 70 in 1993, he lived in the Werrington area of Peterborough.
I know the address but wont publish it here, perhaps if a notice was made it was in a local paper that i cant find online.
This really does need a local with local knowledge i think.
Any info that may be recorded in the notice should help with some family history research that i am doing, any help please if possible.
David.

The Common Room / Re: Married with 2 registrations and 2 towns ?
« on: Wednesday 31 August 22 09:16 BST (UK)  »
yes, both regs show same page number, one reg is volume 7b and the other is 7c, the mans name is the same for both yet the womans name appears in one with just one of her first names and the other with her middle name and her two intials but both with correct last name, weird really.
I do agree that the page number given for Taunton does not exist but the Bristol ones does.
So i will send of for the Bristol one.
Funny thing is i could only find this marriage for her due to the two transcriptions, thanks to the transcriber for what ever reason they got her names correct, she does use both in other documents i have, if this marriage had been transcribed with just one or the other it would have been difficult to determine.
Thanking you guys for your help with this. Dave.

yes, you are right of course, the bristol one i agree is the most relevant to pay for, any reason why the two ladys names would be different ?, even when both are the same lady, just one is full name.
Or just the way it was transcribed ?
Dave.

His second wife was a Mary Ivens Pick, they married in England in 1948 and he took his new wife back to canada also in that year, also to note this second marriage also did not last long with a divorce in 1953, not sure where they went in Canada, he or both wives etc may have moved around a bit with his work to do with either the R.A.F and or the R.C.A.F.
