The parish clerk idea in the UK where volunteers from around the world took on the responsibility for transcribing or looking up a specific group of church records is quite successful.  Perhaps the same idea (on a smaller scale) could work here.

I would volunteer for a church or parish - I'm not very good at transcribing old handwriting but perhaps you would get familiar with just a few different ministers' handwriting and it would be easier. :)

It wouldn't be the official record but would at least help family researchers and relieve the churches of handling the frequent queries.

These are 2 photos of my great grandfather (and one with great grandmother) and I am ecstatic to have them, but they were poorly scanned.  You can see from my avatar that cousin and I have made some attempts to fix.

I am sorry that these are low dpi but this is how I received them and have been unable to track back to source and have them scanned in properly (without the frames). :(

Is it possible to get a better image?  Any help very much appreciated
