The parish clerk idea in the UK where volunteers from around the world took on the responsibility for transcribing or looking up a specific group of church records is quite successful. Perhaps the same idea (on a smaller scale) could work here.
I would volunteer for a church or parish - I'm not very good at transcribing old handwriting but perhaps you would get familiar with just a few different ministers' handwriting and it would be easier.
It wouldn't be the official record but would at least help family researchers and relieve the churches of handling the frequent queries.

These are 2 photos of my great grandfather (and one with great grandmother) and I am ecstatic to have them, but they were poorly scanned. You can see from my avatar that cousin and I have made some attempts to fix.
I am sorry that these are low dpi but this is how I received them and have been unable to track back to source and have them scanned in properly (without the frames).
Is it possible to get a better image? Any help very much appreciated
