Cork / Re: Mary Theresa Fitzgerald DOB 1828/9 Cork birth help please.
« on: Saturday 10 June 06 10:43 BST (UK)  »
Hi Jenny, There were barracks all over Co Cork. She could of met her husband in Buttevant, Cork City, Ballincollig, Cobh, Fermoy the list goes on. I think your best bet would be to find who her husband served with. For example if he served tith cavalary or Artillery it would be probablyin Ballincollig . I know its vague but you could end up sending donations all over the place. CI

Hi Tees the M.H.C. are pretty good but extremely expensive. It all depends on how much you want to spend. A search will cost you 75 euro. Welcome to succesful Ireland. CI

Hi Mike, I'm at the ref. library in Bishopstown, Cork next week for the 1901 census. I suppose your interests had moved on by then. I'll take a look if you require anything. I'm also considering trying to get a census rundown on the military barracks at that time too.Good luck,CI.

Cork / Re: KELLEHER FAMILY MACROOM
« on: Tuesday 25 April 06 02:26 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I know Macroom very well.......Kelleher is a very common name in Co Cork and indeed Macroom. If I were you I would write to the Southern Star newspaper in Skibbereen, Co Cork giving the details you have. You certainly need good details......as there are plenty of Kellehers there. Good luck.
