« on: Monday 15 February 10 20:39 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all
My g.grandads brother James Barker was killed aged 18 in 1921 whilst at work at Rufford Colliery in Notts, his death certificate states he was accidentally killed by being crushed between to waggons, it also states that there was an inquest held on 24 Sept 1921, how can i find details of this inquest as i am unable to get to the records office for this particular area myself?
Thank you in advance.

Selkirkshire / What are 'Rents of Heritage'?
« on: Sunday 01 June 08 11:41 BST (UK)  »
I have just down loaded my GGGgrandfathers Inventory of his Personal Estate after his death from the Scotlands people website, and it mentions some 'Rents of Heritage' due to him by 5 different tenants'. Does anyone know what this could mean, he died in 1865 in Selkirk Scotland.
Thankyou

He was born in 1898 in Leith Edinburgh to John and Jessie McLauchlan m/s Heatlie who also emigrated out there some years later. I have the passenger list from the findmypast website but was looking for his death date out there? Has anyone any idea on any websies that could tell me abit more.

Selkirkshire / Roll of Honour Book for Selkirk.
« on: Monday 19 September 05 20:15 BST (UK)  »
Went to a car boot on Sunday and picked up the 'Roll of Honour Book for the Parish and Burgh of Selkirk 1914-1918'.
It lists the 292 men of Selkirk who lost their lives during the war of 1914-1918 in both the Army and Navy.
Also gives the 1004 men of Selkirk who served and survived in the war of 1914-1918 in both the Army and Navy.
It gives the name(s) of the soldier, his regiment (sometimes), how long he fought for, and sometimes gives medals awarded also.
Can do lookup's and put the book to good use.

Selkirkshire / Can't find his death anywhere??
« on: Saturday 16 April 05 14:51 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,
I have a gravestone inscription which says:

In loving memory of our beloved son
Andrew Baptie Coldwell
Motor Engineer
Died 25 February 1950
Aged 32 years.

I have his parents names but for the life of me i can't find his death registration on the scotlands people website even though there statutory deaths go up later than 1950. I have checked the GRO in England but he didn't die there either. Any idea on where he could be. His gravestone is in the cemetery in Galashiels Scotland.

Does anyone have any information on the surname 'Heatlie' from Scotland. I'm doing my familytree and they originally came from the boarder areas, (Selkirk). Any information greatly received.
