The Lighter Side / Re: Mary Ann Cotton 1839-1873 Durham

Hello All
I came across this thread and wondered if there was anyone else here researching the Mowbray's of Durham (my family) to figure out where William Mowbray fits in. MAC's William seems not to be a direct ancestor of mine - but perhaps he was a cousin or brother of my lot. My direct is William Mowbray b. 1790 Chester le Street, Durham d.1871. The family were all miners or stonemasons. Does anyone have info on MA's first hubby?

Hi Penny

Yes, back from travels reluctantly  :(

Thanks for your suggestion about posting something for Phyllis. Have managed to make some headway on her, but need a breakthrough. Have also made some headway on more of the South Australian Roney's and I am waiting on BDMs to get through their backlog to confirm.

Regards

Hi Penny
Coincidentally I'm researching the same family. We may have exchanged info on another forum.
I came across a reference for the birth of William's broher Richard in 1806 to William Roney and Ann listed under the Parish of Selling in Kent. Perhaps your young William was born there too rather than Fletching or Brighton.
