Yes, I must be lucky to have found my ancestor's estate inventory from 1828.
I'm hoping to find an obituary from 1828, Dundee.

Yes, I agree, Scotlandspeople is better. Familysearch is free.
A good idea is to lookup the marriage on Scotlandspeople, it will likely show Euphemia's father's name. I would also do a search for John Dykes's will or inventory of estate. If there is one, it might show the exact date of death.

Some of the Mormon records on Familysearch are correct and some/many are incorrect. A Mormon Lindsay entered some correct info for my ancestors, I'm still trying to figure out how he did it. Perhaps he made contact with my ancestors.

Angus (Forfarshire) / James Lindsay of Dundee, d. 10 APR 1828
« on: Saturday 14 August 10 21:28 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,
I'm searching for the names of the parents of James Lindsay (d. 10 APR 1828). He was a weaver who lived in Dundee, No. 80 Bell Street. His wife, Janet Ramsay m. 16 Nov 1792. He had a brother Tom and one other brother. Children are Margaret, Jessie, David, Elizabeth and Anne. James would tell his children that his first visit to Dundee was as a youth, coming to market with a sack of barley, brought across a horse's back. He might be "from the Land of the Lindsays, Brechin or Edzell way". He traveled to London in 1802 to visit his brother (unknown name). He was at times a member of Scoth Baptist Church and West Port Independents (Ward Chapel).
Perhaps my best chance is to find an obituary in a 1828 Dundee newspaper. (what do you think?)
Thank you,
David Lindsay
