Armed Forces / Re: Dublin regiment photo identification

Thanks Tony
I presume it is therefore a British Regiment who were in Inchicore, Dublin at the time at the Barracks there.
I had always presumed he was a member of the Irish branch of my family.  The rest of my family are from the North East.
I have no idea who he is.
Shame!
Thanks again

Armed Forces / Dublin regiment photo identification

Hello

Could someone please tell me which Regiment this photo is from.  Obviously it is Irish, but the Regiment, rank and time-line would be really helpful.

Thanks

Hi everyone

Sorry I've been so late getting back, but I didn't realise I had any posts.  Totally missed the e-mails or OH deleted them  ::)

Anyway, thank you so much for your hard work.  That's Janet/Jannet/Jennet sorted.

Thanks again

Thanks Rosie. They obviously didn't get married as the dates of birth are way out.  It was just a thought as  I couldn't find a death for them under their married names. I've scoured the Liverpool necropolis records etc where their husbands and children were buried, but they are not there.
I suppose they could have emigrated, but I've looked and can't see any records for that either.
Never mind.
Thanks again

Thanks folk. I have tried FS, FindMyPast etc. Thought every way outside the box, but no luck.
I'm trying to find a Julia Palmer. She was a widow born 1801/2, last living in Liverpool in 1837. She had links with London so thought she might have gone back there and remarried. Possibly 1839 St George, Southwark.
Also a Jennet Palmer. Also a widow born 1795/99, last living in Liverpool 1851. She also had links with London so thought she might have gone back there and remarried. Possibly 1851 St George, Southwark.

Hello
In the marriages on freebmd, how can you find out which named individual married one of the number of people mentioned as possible spouses.  I've tried narrowing them down through census and death records, but can't find possible matches.

Hello

I hope someone could give me some insight.  I have found an ancestor in the workhouse in the Admissions and Discharge Register on Family Search microfilms.  She was admitted on 11 October 1853.  There is a 'No of Order' 590.  Does this relate to another record and are they available?

It also says 'by whose order' and it cites an H Simpson (this name appears regularly throughout the records) who are they?

She dies in the Infirmary Ward on 9 December 1853. (Stroke - according to burial records)  Now, I know she was buried in the Necropolis in a family grave, so she must have been known to the family and also I know the family were very "comfortable", and she had lived with her uncle previously.  Did people go into Workhouses for reasons other than poverty?

Thanks
Mo
