I agree totally with the reply above.

There are countless posts on Rootschat about the amount of incorrect info on other peoples trees. Many just copy from other trees rather than doing their own research so errors multiply.

DNA is your only way forward in this case unless Joseph named a different father on his marriage cert?

Occasionally - illegitimate children have contact with their biological fathers

She married James Henry Bushell 1930 at St Annes Birkenhead as Elizabeth Euphemia Grierson

She was born as Elizabeth Euphemia Shakspeare (note spelling) in Birkenhead & Married James Grierson 1920 - he died 1923

Where does she fit into your FH?  Are you descended from one of her children or siblings?

Welcome to Rootschat

Per probate entry - She died 27.8.1976 & her address was Calthorpe Vyner Rd South Birkenhead.  Born 18.5.1895 per death record

She left a will which you can download for £1.50 in case she left instructions re burial.  There is also the possibility she may have been cremated.

As he wasn't a full time policeman there may not be any records.

Marriage was 1966 so any children could still be living

Rootschat has a strict no living persons policy so any info cannot be posted here to protect their privacy

4 possible births found 1969 - 1982 using the full GRO index on Ancestry

Free Ancestry access is probably available at your local library

EDIT - mis-read - thought you meant births of children to the marriage

As you have his service number, have you checked the MRI index to get his full name?
